Matt Schlatter, Musician Bio.

Matt Schlatter is a musician and composer new to New York City. He spent most of his musical life in Philadelphia – where he graduated from The University of the Arts and spent 7 years as a gigging musician. He has played with original music acts The Tonalites and Live Theory at many of Philly’s premier venues including The North Star Bar, The Fire, The Millcreek Tavern and many others. He has also played with countless Philadelphia Jazz musicians at places like Chris’ Jazz cafe and the Pyramid Club as well as at many Philly restaurants. Matt is also a private guitar and piano teacher, teaching everyone from kids to senior citizens, beginning rockers to advanced jazzers. Matt has composed the incidental music for theater productions of The Importance of Being Earnest (2007) and Naked Will (2008) at the Walnut Street Theatre's Studio 5, and premiered his own jazz suite for quartet, The Either, in 2006. He is also a co-founder of Aspire Arts, a Philadelphia non-profit that creates professional opportunities for early career artists.
